Public proxy IP
An address listed as offering a proxy service.
Definition
A proxy forwards requests between a client and another service. A public proxy list records hosts observed or advertised as proxy endpoints. The list identifies infrastructure, rather than establishing how every request from that address was made.
Worked example
IPQuery checks public proxy IPs and known proxy or privacy relay networks in risk.is_proxy. The public proxy directory counts listed hosts only; it does not count open ports or cover every network matched by the API.

}Selected fields from one complete single-IP response. Values describe the address looked up, not the reader’s connection.
API fields
Matching ruleAddress is in the deduplicated public proxy host list.
risk.is_proxyboolean- Address matches a listed proxy IP, a reviewed proxy-provider network or a privacy relay exit range.
A false flag means its matching condition was not met. A missing or failed response is unavailable, not false.
Interpretation
Several proxy endpoints can share one address. A public list does not cover every private proxy, and a match does not prove that the current visitor used the proxy service.
